The Family Business Clarity Check

Are you ready to find out how clear things really are in your business?

Answer 9 questions and get a plain-English snapshot of how clear your plan, cash and family relationships really are.

Uncover Your Strengths & Gaps

I designed this check to help family business owners like you see what’s quietly holding your business back in your plan, your cash, and your family conversations and give you simple, practical steps to start fixing it. No jargon. Just clarity.

2 MINUTES TO CLARITY

For over three decades I’ve worked with family business owners across Cornwall and the South West – and run my own family firm in Bodmin.

The ones who sleep better at night usually have three things in place:

→ A simple written plan everyone can see

→ Clear profit and cashflow they actually understand

→ Honest family conversations about the future of the business

Most owners I meet are strong on hard work, but light on clarity in at least one of those areas.

The Family Business Clarity Check breaks this into 9 straightforward questions – designed to show you, in minutes, where you’re clear, where you’re exposed, and what to focus on next.

You’ll get a short, plain-English report you can read over a coffee, not a spreadsheet you’ll never open.

Hi, I’m Paul Miller.

I'm a chartered accountant and family business finance partner based in Bodmin.

I’ve spent almost 40 years working with businesses across the South West – and over 30 of those running my own family firm, Cornish Accounting Solutions.

Over that time, the same three issues keep coming up:

❌ Owners working harder every year with no clear plan

❌ Cash getting tighter and profits drifting

❌ Family conversations about the future being put off

I’m a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and ex-KPMG, but what my clients value most is that I speak in plain English, make the numbers make sense, and sit alongside them as a partner, not just “the accountant”.

I wrote "Building a Legacy: A guide for family businesses" and I’m now writing a second book on life, numbers and legacy in family firms.

The Family Business Clarity Check is built from the same questions I use with real clients. It works because it reflects decades of sitting at kitchen tables and boardroom tables, not theory.

This check is a simple way to start: to see where you’re clear, where you’re exposed, and whether having someone in your corner would help.

✔️ It takes just 2 minutes
✔️ It’s completely free
✔️ You get customised results instantly
